Today I want to talk about the impact that negative thinking has on your mental health. It can affect the way you feel about yourself. It can affect the way you live your life. It can affect any relationship you may have in you life. We also have to be careful what we say to ourselves because we are listening. If we tell ourselves that we are not good enough, then we start believing it.
Before my thinking would be so negative. I would tell myself, your unlovable, unworthy, ugly, fat, no one will ever like you. I would dwell in this thinking that it started to make me feel even more depressed. It made me afraid to open up to anymore because I felt like I will never be good enough. I would push people away if they got to close because I was afraid to show the real me. Afraid they would judge me.
One major thing that I learned in the hospital was changing your thinking. To turn the negative to something positive. If you do that your whole outlook on life would change. You would start feeling better about who you are as person and what you can give to the world. It does not matter what the world tells you, what matters the most is what God tells you.
I started to change my thinking about a couple of weeks ago. When the thought of “I am unlovable” came to mind, I would change it to “I am lovable.” I will look at the people who love me. The people who wants the best for me. By changing the way I think has given me more confidence. It has gave me a new outlook on my life. It has been a wonderful change!
I challenge whoever is reading this and struggle with thinking negative, to change your thinking patterns. If a negative thought comes to your mind change it to something positive. You are worth it, you are loved and you are beautiful. Say that to yourself while looking in the mirror and you will start feel better about who you are. Also you will start believing it.
